About Assam Don Bosco University

Assam Don Bosco University is a state private, non-profit, co-educational, Catholic research university located in Assam, India. Founded on March 29, 2008, by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB) and executed by the Don Bosco Society, Azara, Guwahati, the university was officially established through the Assam Don Bosco University Act, 2009, on 9 January 2009 and created under the Assam Private Universities Act 2007. ADBU is NAAC accredited and the only Private University in North East India that made it to the top 200 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India.

ADBU is winner of “Excellence in Institutional Social Responsibility” by FICCI, the 7th eNabling North East Award in the category ‘Health, Sanitation and Well Being” and “Engaged University of the Year 2020 Asia Pacific (Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence) Award”. Dept. of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Assam has given  the University Appreciation Certificate and Plaque in recognition of the University’s welfare activities.

The university is also ranked 301-400 in the recently released Impact Rankings by the TIMES Higher Education World University Rankings.

Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) is a member of The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) as well as the International Association of Universities (IAU) and is accredited by India’s top higher education regulatory bodies like the University Grants Commission, AICTE.
